Today we want to share this web site for cheap and effective cat pee odor removal. One of our Castoff Pet Rescue volunteers used it when she had a temporary problem with one of her cats. The female cat peed (more than once while they were out of town) on the couch cushions. Our volunteer found a great resource online for a homemade solution and reported “Believe it or not, I was able to get the odor out!” Here is the site with instructions for use on various surfaces http://www.remove-cat-urine.com/. The site even has an article explaining the chemistry behind the reaction (how cool).
Alternatively, if you have pee on a surface where you do not want to use peroxide (as in the above recipe) “Urine-Off” works great. Here is that site: http://urineoff.com/. It’s available at some pet stores and online. It’s somewhat expensive, but worth every penny! However, it works no better than the first mixture above.
