Castoff Pet Rescue has a monthly transport that saves hundreds of lives each year. In February, the transport left at 4 am, heading to a wonderful rescue group in New Jersey. The precious cargo consisted of 17 dogs and 7 cats, one cat is Posey, pictured. Many of these lucky ones already had a home waiting for them as they were preadopted. They arrived the same night to begin their new lives as loved and valued family members.
The northern rescue is able to take some of our companion animals as they do not have the pet overpopulation problem that exists here. Please spay and neuter your pets, this is essential in preventing homeless, unwanted cats and dogs that can eventually wind up in kill shelters, simply because no one wants them.
We would like to thank our dedicated volunteers that help put the transports together, drive the long journey, and get animals loaded in the early morning hours. They do this all to save these animals and get them to families who will give them a wonderful life. All this does take money. If you would like to contribute to our March transport, it will be leaving on the 31st with another van full of saved lives.
