A couple of weeks ago I had wire tightly wrapped around my paw…

and it was so badly infected that wormy little buggers (someone told me later they were called ‘maggots’) were crawling all over my boo-boo.  I’m just a little kitten and didn’t know what to do about all of this!  But a real nice lady found me and she took me to an animal doctor’s office (she called it a “vet”).  Because this nice lady had no money, someone suggested I be “euthanized”.  I didn’t know what that meant, but this lady (my guardian angel) was so upset when she heard this, that she took me to her home.  After she calmed down, she realized she really had no means of helping me (although she already had), so she did the next best thing: she called Castoff Pet Rescue.

My guardian angel spoke to a CPR volunteer who requested I be taken to one of their vets at Hiawassee Animal Clinic who looked me over real good and was kind to me. They gave me medicine right away (they called them antibiotics) and another nice lady, this one called a “vet tech” by the name of Heather, spent all weekend carefully cleaning my wounds. Oh, it felt so much better right away!

However, even though everything possible was done to save my leg—everyone really wanted me to keep it!—part of it was too badly damaged to be saved.  They called this an “amputation”.

But that’s okay!  I am a healthy kitten otherwise!  I purr all the time because I feel so much better, I love getting and giving attention, and people call me “spoiled rotten” from all of the TLC I have received. I don’t know about you, but I think I deserve it.

So I will be living in a CPR foster home (Nancy’s house) and she will be taking care of me.  Once all my medical needs are completed (shots, spayed, feline leukemia tested, etc.), I will be ready for my forever loving home!
